Seven foreign guests to attend Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, Maldives-a surprise addition

Delhi, June 8: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leader Narendra Modi will take oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. Leaders of neighboring countries will also attend his swearing-in ceremony. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that leaders of Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles will attend the ceremony.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Dr Mohammad Muizzu, Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afeef, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will attend the ceremony. The arrival of these leaders in Delhi has started from today. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached New Delhi this afternoon.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that implementing Neighborhood First and Sagar Vision, foreign guests will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister.

Apart from attending the swearing-in ceremony, these leaders will also attend the banquet hosted by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow night
