Shrikant Dixit murder case: 3 accused held in police encounter in Barabanki

Barabanki 3 March: The Barabanki police solved the Shrikant Dixit murder case in three days after arresting three accused during a police encounter on late Sunday night. One of these criminals was injured after being shot in the leg.

Additional SP Awadhesh Kumar Singh informed that on February 27, a missing complaint was filed on the complaint given by the family members of Srikant Dixit, resident of Police Station Haidergarh, but on March 2, the body of Srikant Dixit was found by the police from the Sharda Sahayak Canal in Devpuri village of Police Station Bachhrawan in Raebareli district. On which the police was searching for the criminals after registering a murder case.

He said that meanwhile, on the night of March 2/3, Haidergarh police station in-charge Ajay Prakash Tiwari was patrolling with the force, when a WagonR car was seen coming from Kanwa canal on Jaspur road. When the police team tried to stop the suspicious WagonR car, the driver started running away. When the police chased it, the car collided with a culvert and the criminals got down from the car and started running. When the police team tried to catch them by running, the criminals opened fire on the police team. When the police team fired, a criminal got shot in the leg. Due to which he got injured. So the police surrounded them and arrested all the criminals.

ASP told that the injured person told his name as Rakesh Kumar son Jawaharlal Lodhi resident Baba Ka Purwa Majra Ansari police station Haidergarh. The other two arrested accused include Purnamasi and Rahul son Jawahar Lodhi resident Baba Ka Purwa Majra Ansari. All three are real brothers. One pistol 12 bore, one live cartridge, one shell and one WagonR car UP 32 PM 3868 were found from the arrested accused.

During strict interrogation by the police, he confessed his crime and disclosed the murder of Shrikant Dixit, saying that he had borrowed Rs. 1,50,000 from the deceased about one and a half years ago. When Shrikant Dixit started demanding his money repeatedly, the accused called the deceased to their building shop, took him inside their shop on the pretext of giving him the money and there, finding an opportunity, killed him by hitting him with a stick and hammer and closed the shop and left.

When it was night, the deceased’s motorcycle was thrown into a well near Bahuta village, and the deceased’s body was taken out of the shop and thrown in the Sharda Sahayak Canal in Devpuri of Bachhrawan police station of Raebareli district.

When the deceased did not return home, the family members lodged a missing complaint report at the local police station, then the police started investigating this murder case and with the help of SWAT and surveillance team of the police, the Haidergarh police station in-charge has today revealed this murder case and succeeded in arresting the accused during an encounter.

Based on the information provided, the axe, hammer and the deceased’s motorcycle used in the murder have also been recovered. The criminal injured in the encounter has been admitted to the district hospital.
