Lucknow, 03 July: A girl, standing near Lohia Park in Chowk police station area waiting for a vehicle to go somewhere with her brother, meanwhile, an unknown youth came and threw a flammable substance on her on Wednesday. The brother also got burnt while trying to save his sister. Both siblings were admitted to the trauma center of KGMU. The police have registered a case and started investigation, police told.
DCP West Durgesh Kumar said that the girl is a daughter of an officer of Chowk Vyapar Mandal living in Sahadatganj. On Wednesday morning at around 8 o’clock, she was standing near Chowk area with her brother in connection with some work. Meanwhile, an unknown youth came and threw an acid on her. The brother also got burnt while trying to save his sister. This incident created a stir among the public and the accused escaped after getting the opportunity. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and the family members admitted both of them to the trauma center.
DCP West Durgesh Kumar said that the victim girl and her brother have been admitted to the trauma center for treatment. Both are very scared after this incident. At the same time, three police teams have been deployed to search for the accused. He will be arrested soon. CCTV footage is being scanned.
