New Delhi, August 06: Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla on Friday said that Serum’s Covovax will be launched in India by the first week of October. This vaccine will come to India for children older than 12 years.
He further said that in the first quarter of next year, the vaccine will also be launched for children below the age of 12 years.
He said that there is no shortage of funds in the production of the vaccine and the Government of India is giving full support to the Serum Institute.
He said that 13 crore vaccines are being made available every month in the country. With this the production of Covishield is being increased.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Adar Poonawalla said that the government is giving full cooperation in the production of the vaccine. Efforts are being made to increase the production of the vaccine.
