My film ‘Annapoorni’ was not made just for financial gain, we wanted to give a positive message through this film, but inadvertently the sentiments of some people were hurt. We did not think that the film released in theaters would be removed from OTT after getting approval from the Censor Board. Neither my team nor I intended to hurt people’s sentiments.
Nayanthara wrote, my aim in my two decade long film career has been to spread positivity.
The film ‘Annapoorni’ was released in theaters on December 1 and then on OTT platform Netflix on December 29. The film was accused of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus, after which the film was removed from Netflix.
Not only this, a complaint was also filed against the producers of the film and Nayanthara.
