Stock Market closes on Strong Note due to last hour buying

New Delhi, January 10: Due to vigorous buying in the last hour of the day, the domestic stock market once again managed to close on a strong note today. Today’s trading started with slight weakness.

There were continuous fluctuations recorded in the stock market during the day’s trading but in the last session, the stock market took the lead due to huge buying.

After the entire day’s trading, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.38 percent and Nifty with a gain of 0.34 percent.

During today’s trading, there was heavy buying in shares of IT, metal and banking sectors. Similarly, Infrastructure, Energy and Automobile indices also closed with gains.

On the other hand, shares of FMCG, Public Sector Enterprise and Realty sector were seen trading under pressure. There was continuous shopping in Broader Market today also.

Due to this, BSE Midcap Index closed with a gain of 0.23 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today’s trading with a gain of 0.35 percent.

Today, due to the rapid buying in the market during the last session, the wealth of stock market investors increased by about Rs 1.39 lakh crore. The market capitalization of companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 368.86 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trading, whereas their market capitalization on the previous trading day i.e. Tuesday was Rs 367.48 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 1.39 lakh crore from today’s trading.

Today, there was active trading in 3,935 shares in BSE in the day’s trading. Of these, 2,092 shares closed with gains, while 1,742 shares were in decline, while 101 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,155 shares in NSE today. Of these, 1,127 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 1,028 shares closed in the red after incurring a loss.

Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 14 shares closed with gains and 16 shares with decline, while out of 30 shares included in Nifty, 28 shares closed in green mark and 22 shares closed in red mark.

BSE Sensex opened today with a slight weakness of 3.01 points at the level of 71,383.20 points. Due to selling in early trade, this index fell by 275.23 points to reach 71,110.98 points but after this the buyers also made efforts. Due to this the situation of this index started improving.

During most of the day’s trading, buyers and sellers tried to dominate each other. Due to this, there were continuous fluctuations in the movement of Sensex but in the last hour of trading, buyers made their presence felt.

Resulting in, the Sensex gained 347.63 points to reach 71,733.84 points. After the entire day’s trading, this index ended today’s trading at the level of 71,657.71 points with a gain of 271.50 points.

Like the Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading today with a fall of 15.55 points at the level of 21,529.30 points. Due to selling pressure after the market opened, this index fell by 96.20 points to reach the level of 21,448.65 points, but after this the buyers also increased their strength.

Because of this the index started recovery from the lower level. With the support of continuous buying, this index recovered by more than 190 points from the low level and reached the level of 21,641.85 points with a gain of 95 points.

After the entire day’s trading, Nifty closed at 21,618.70 points with a gain of 73.85 points.

After the entire day’s trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, Cipla 3.09 percent, Adani Enterprise 2.77 percent, Reliance Industries 2.70 percent, HCL Technology 2.17 percent and Adani Ports 1.44 percent joined the list of today’s top 5 gainers.

On the other hand, ONGC 2.10 per cent, Divis Laboratories 2.06 per cent, NTPC 2 per cent, BPCL 1.89 per cent and Power Grid Corporation
1.30 per cent joined the list of today’s top 5 losers.
