Sunny Deol’s much-awaited film ‘Jaat’ was in the news for a long time. Fans were very excited about this film. When it was released in theaters on April 10, there was a festive atmosphere outside the theaters. Somewhere people came to watch the film in tractor-trolleys, and somewhere the audience was seen dancing to the tune of drums. Sunny Deol’s fans celebrated the opening of the film like a festival.

However, the film’s first day earnings did not live up to expectations and there was a slight disappointment at the box office. Now the figures of the second day’s earnings have also come out, from which it is clear that the film is getting a mixed response from the audience. The film’s earnings are expected to see a jump in the coming weekend, especially in the North Belt where Sunny Deol’s hold is considered to be very strong.

According to the report of Sacnilk, Sunny Deol’s film ‘Jaat’ earned only Rs 7 crore on the second day, while it had earned Rs 9.5 crore on the opening day. That is, the film’s earnings have declined on the second day. So far, ‘Jaat’ has earned a total of Rs 16.50 crore in India, while the worldwide box office collection has shrunk to just Rs 13.25 crore, which is much less than expected.

However, despite the decline in earnings, ‘Jaat’ has become the second biggest opening film of Sunny Deol’s career. His blockbuster hit ‘Gadar 2’ still remains at the first position, which had a record-breaking start.

The film does not seem to be meeting the expectations of the audience from Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’. Neither could it compete with Sunny’s previous megahit ‘Gadar 2’ nor could it beat the opening day collection of Salman Khan’s recent release ‘Sikander’. While ‘Sikander’ earned a strong 26 crores on the first day, ‘Jaat’ got stuck at 9.5 crores, meaning it could not earn even half of Salman’s film’s opening. However, due to the immense popularity of ‘Gadar’ and Sunny Deol’s action image, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the fans for ‘Jaat’. But the real challenge now will be whether this enthusiasm is maintained in the coming days or not.

The film ‘Jaat’ is actually an attempt to bring back Sunny Deol in the ‘angry young man’ avatar of the 80s, that too in the spicy style of South Indian cinema. This film has been made especially for those viewers who like high-voltage action, powerful dialogues and hero-centric story. The film has been directed by well-known South director Gopichand Malineni, who is famous for giving big action hits in Telugu cinema. Along with Sunny, powerful actors like Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh have also played important roles in the film.
