Mumbai, January 19; Suspected accused Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, who stabbed film actor Saif Ali Khan multiple times, was arrested from Kasarvadavali area of โโThane district early today and presented in the court on Sunday afternoon.
The court has sent him to police custody till January 24. Saif Ali Khan, who was injured in this incident, is being treated at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra. The Bandra Police Station team is investigating this case thoroughly.
Mumbai Police told the court that the accused entered the house of film actor Saif Ali Khan in Bandra in the early hours of January 16 with the intention of theft and attacked Saif Ali Khan with a knife several times. In the preliminary investigation, the accused is suspected to be a Bangladeshi. Therefore, it is necessary to find out the international connection of the case. Therefore, police custody of the accused for 14 days is necessary for a thorough investigation of this case.
After this, the accused’s lawyer told the court that he has been living in Mumbai for the last seven years. Nothing has been recovered from him. Therefore, police custody is not required in this case, but the court has sent the accused to police custody till January 24.
