Swami Prasad had provided stickers of UP assembly, reveals Shrikant Tyagi during grilling

NOIDA, 09 Aug: Shrikant Tyagi, accused of abusing and assaulting a woman who opposed ‘illegal construction’ carried out by him at common area of Grand Omaxe housing society arrested from Meerut was presented in front of the media in a press conference.  

During this, Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar told that during the absconding, Shrikant Tyagi kept hiding in Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Meerut.

Alok Kumar said that a Fortuner car with a sticker of the MLA has also been recovered from Srikant’s possession. He said that during interrogation, Shrikant has told the police that this sticker was provided to him by former Uttar Pradesh minister and present Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya.

He said that along with Shrikant, his three other aides, Rahul resident of Hapur, Nakul Tyagi, resident of Meerut and Sanjay resident of Firozabad have been arrested. Everyone is being sent to jail.

He told that the Gangster Act is also being invoked against Shrikant.

Alok Kumar said that Srikanth has expressed his regret for the indecent behaviour with the woman. He said that he had behaved indecently out of passion. During this, Srikanth had put a mask on his mouth. At the behest of the media, he removed the mask for some time.

He told that Shrikant Tyagi was trying to save himself in a very clever way. Our teams cautiously arrested him from Meerut today. The root of the dispute was the land on which the accused had sexually assaulted the woman for planting trees.

The Commissioner of Police said that after the incident, the accused first tried to go towards the airport. But the video of the incident had become quite viral. Due to which the accused reached Meerut and reached Haridwar the next day i.e. on Saturday. From there on Sunday, he entered the border of UP. Its activity was seen in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas on Sunday evening. During this, it not only concealed itself but also kept changing its location. The vicious vehicle also kept changing to dodge the police.

The CP Noida said that so far five vehicles have been recovered, including two Fortuner, two Safari and one Honda Civic. Some vehicles are in his name and some in his wife’s name. Gunner case found from Ghaziabad is also being investigated. He has spent lakhs of rupees for the VIP number.

Police Commissioner said that Nakul Tyagi, Sanjay, driver Rahul are its main accomplices. All of them were associated with Tyagi for a long time.
