Talks between India and Russia begin on Sputnik-5

New Delhi, August 25: There has been a sharp movement in the country regarding the manufacture of Covid-19 vaccines to win the war against the global pandemic coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Russia, which makes Corona’s first vaccine in the world, has approached India with its Sputnik-5 vaccine. There has been talk about the production of vaccine between the two countries.

On Tuesday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that Russia has approached India regarding the production of Sputnik-5. There has also been talk in this matter between the two countries.

He said that Russia has given initial information and now detailed information has been sought from them, which is awaited. At the same time, Russia is also in contact with several countries of Latin America, Asia and West Asia regarding vaccine production. Since India produces 60 percent of the world’s vaccine, Russia has also made contact with India.

Trial running on three vaccines of the country

The three vaccines being manufactured in the country are also in rapid progress. ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava said that the trial of the serum institute vaccine is in the second and third stages.

“Similarly, Bharat Biotech has completed the first phase trial on 375 people. Now the second phase will start with 1700 people soon,” informed ICMR Director.  

Bhargava further apprised, The Zydus Cadila vaccine has also completed the first phase of human trials. Now the work of the second phase of trials will begin.
