New Delhi, 03 December: The Election Commission on Sunday ordered the suspension of Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar for violating the Model Code of Conduct.
According to sources, counting was still going on in the state in Telangana when DGP Anjani Kumar had reached Hyderabad with a bouquet of flowers to give to the Telangana Congress President and candidate Revanth Reddy.
The Election Commission considered this step of DGP Anjani Kumar a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Anjani Kumar was present along with Telangana Police nodal officer Sanjay Jain and nodal officer (expenditure) Mahesh Bhagwat on Sunday morning. When this video went viral on social media, the Election Commission took immediate action of suspension.
