Veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah remains in the news for his statements. His acting is second to none. He often surprises people by giving statements on many social and political issues. Recently he directly asked how films like “Kashmir Files” and “Gadar 2” could run. There are mixed reactions to his statement.
Naseeruddin Shah has returned to direction after 17 years. He has directed the film ‘Man Woman Man Woman’. In an interview given to the media, he was asked whether he felt that the purpose of film production in Bollywood had changed.
To this he said, โYes, the more anti-national you are, the more famous you will be.โ Because these people are running the country. Loving your country is no longer enough. You have to scream and yell and even adopt imaginary hostility. These people don’t know how dangerous it is.
He further said, ‘I haven’t seen films like Gadar 2 and The Kerala Story yet, but I know what they are about. I am surprised that films like Kashmir Files become hits, but films made by Sudhir Mishra, Anubhav Sinha, Hansal Mehta, no one sees the truth they try to show. Such filmmakers should not be disappointed and keep showing the truth.
After a hundred years, when people will watch ‘Bheed’ and ‘Gadar 2’, they will know which film was showing the truth. Because film is a powerful medium to show the truth. The film ‘Man Woman Man Woman’ is the second film directed by Naseeruddin Shah.
Earlier, he had directed Irrfan Khan starrer “U Hota Toh Kya Hota”. He has returned to direction after 17 years.
