Tragic: 5 people including 3 doctors died in a road accident in Kannauj

Kannauj, 27 November: Five people including three doctors died in a road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning at around 3.45 am. All five people were posted in Saifai Medical College. One person is seriously injured in this accident, who was sent to Saifai Medical College.

Tirwa Area Officer of Kannauj district Priyanka Bajpai told media persons that the deceased have been identified as Dr Anirudh Verma (29), resident of Agra, Dr Arun Kumar, resident of Kannauj, Dr Narendra Dev, Lab Technician Santosh Kumar and storekeeper Rakesh Kumar. Among the injured is Dr Jaiveer Singh (39), resident of Budhbihar in Moradabad district, who is undergoing treatment at Saifai Medical College. All of them were working in Saifai Medical College. All these people were returning from Lucknow after attending a wedding ceremony, when their car met with an accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Tirwa Kotwali in Kannauj.

Dr CP Pal, Principal of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College, Kannauj, said that five people were brought here dead at dawn. One was in critical condition, who has been shifted to Saifai Medical College in Etawah. The police have identified the deceased and informed the family members about the incident.
