Pratapgarh, 21 December: A woman committed suicide by hanging herself along with three innocent children In Bhadohi village of Kotwali Dehat area in Pratapgarh, After the incident, the woman’s husband is absconding. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot with the forensic team and investigated the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
Sandeep alias Rajteja, a resident of Bhadohi village of Kotwali Dehat, works as a labourer to support his wife Durgaswari (30), daughters Lakshmi, Ujala and son Raunak. On Saturday morning, when Sandeep’s mother woke up, she knocked on the door of the room to wake up her daughter-in-law. After calling and knocking the door several times, when there was no response from inside, she pushed the door and it opened. When she saw the bodies of the three children and daughter-in-law hanging from the noose inside the room, she screamed.
On seeing the incident, the woman’s husband has absconded. On receiving the information from the mother-in-law, the police reached the spot with the forensic team and investigated the scene. The bodies were taken down from the noose.
During police interrogation, the woman told that she lives with her husband in a rented house at another place. Her son Sandeep used to fight with the family members after drinking alcohol. He used to beat his wife and children too. He had beaten her on Friday night too. It is suspected that the woman hanged herself in the room along with the children after getting fed up with her drunk husband. The information of the incident has been given to the people of her maternal side.
Additional Superintendent of Police East Durgesh Kumar Singh said that a thorough investigation is being done on the incident that took place in the Kotwali Dehat area. Police force including CO City Shiv Narayan Bash is present on the spot. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
