Prime Video today released the trailer of its upcoming Amazon Original Movie ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. Inspired by true events, the film is based on the Quit India Movement of 1942, which tells the story of an important chapter in India’s freedom struggle.
This patriotic thriller-drama film of Dharmatic Entertainment Production is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. Made under the direction of Kannan Iyer, the story of this film has been written by Iyer and Darab Farooqui. Sara Ali Khan plays the lead role in this film, while Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Srivastava, Alex O’Neil and Anand Tiwari play important roles with special guest appearance of Emraan Hashmi. ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is set to premiere on March 21 on Prime Video with dubbing in Hindi and Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
From the very first frame, the trailer of the film takes the audience back in time to the pre-independence era, as we see Usha (played by Sara Ali Khan), a 22-year-old college-girl from Bombay, India. In her attempt to help India achieve independence, she secretly runs a radio station and this radio station becomes the biggest source of fuel for the Quit India Movement. Through his character, the film’s trailer highlights the courage of the youth of the country, their sacrifices and their ability to face difficulties during India’s freedom struggle.
On this occasion, actress Sara Ali Khan said, It is a great honor for me to play such a powerful character in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’, which cannot be expressed in words. I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to play this character, for which I tried to see things from his perspective and understand what motivates him and boosts his morale.
