Twitter abuzz with #KashiKiDevDeepawali; trend reaches 21 crore people

Lucknow, 07 November: As crescent-shaped banks of Ganga were illuminated by more than 10 lakh diyas on the occasion of Dev Deepawali in Varanasi, #KashiKiDevDeepawali became one of the top Twitter trends for several hours and reached over 21 crore people.

More than 50,000 people simultaneously used #KashiKiDevDeepawali to tweet, retweet, like and reply. Using this hashtag, about 30,000 Twitter users posted images and videos of the breathtaking view of Kashi with over 21 lakh diyas illuminating the holy city. Twitter users also posted videos of the colourful and spectacular laser and fireworks shows held on the occasion of Dev Deepawali.

Along with this, users praised PM Modi and CM Yogi for their efforts in making Varanasi’s Dev Deepawali, which becomes bigger every year, a success. This year, 21 lakh diyas were lit in Varanasi, of which 10 lakh were lit at the Ganga Ghats in Kashi.
