Kolkata, July 18: Kolkata police have arrested a man from Hooghly for allegedly threatening acid attack and rape over social media on actress Swastika Mukherjee.
Swastika was Sushant Singh Rajput’s co-actress in the upcoming film ‘Dil Bechara’.
On June 26, a media house misinterpreted a statement by the actress (Swastika Mukherjee) and stated that Swastika said “Suicide has become a fashion nowadays”.
However, the actress did not say so anywhere. After seeing the false news, Swastika was humiliated on social media in indecent language. She was also trolled on various social media platforms later.
A man named Kaushik Das threatened her with an acid attack. An actress then lodged a complaint with the Cyber ​​Crime Branch of the Calcutta Police, after which the police arrested the accused.
Police on Friday arrested a journalist named Shubham Chakraborty from Ghosi in eastern Burdwan in connection with the investigation of a fake news website that published false news about the actress.
Following the arrest of the two, Swastik Mukherjee has tweeted, thanking the Kolkata Police Cyber ​​Division.
