Lucknow, October 05: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the three-day New Urban India Conclave as part of the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ of independence in the capital Lucknow.

During this, he released the table book of 75 best works and transferred keys through digital medium to 75 thousand beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Modi also interacted with some of the beneficiaries.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi appealed to the people who got a new house that on Diwali, they all must light two lamps outside their house.

Modi said seven and a half lakh diyas will be lit in Ayodhya this year on Diwali. At such a time, Lord Rama will be happy if even nine lakh people who get a new house light two or two lamps outside their house.

Women got more than 80 percent houses: Modi

Modi stated on this occasion that I am happy that over 80 percent of the houses being given under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the country are women or they are jointly owners.

Modi said that I was also told that the Yogi government has taken a decision related to the homes of women. Women are being given a rebate of up to two percent for registering a house up to a cost of 10 lakhs. This is a commendable decision of Yogi Government.

Prime Minister Modi said that in 2014, the country gave us an opportunity to serve. I am especially grateful to Uttar Pradesh. You brought me to the Parliament of the country. When you gave us the responsibility, we tried our best to fulfil it. Before 2014, the government had sanctioned only 13 lakh houses under urban housing schemes in the country. In this too, only eight lakh houses were built. Since 2014, our government has approved the construction of more than one crore houses under PM Awas Yojana where 13 lakh where one crore 13 lakh. In this, more than 50 lakh houses have been handed over to the people.

Modi further said that earlier such a small house was built that it was difficult to live in it. After 2014, our government also formulated a housing policy. It was decided that no house would be built below 22 square meters and started sending money directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries. We have handed over the freedom from design to construction of houses to the beneficiaries. Build the house as they wish.

Targeting the opposition during his address, Prime Minister Modi said that some great personalities have been saying here that we have made the Prime Minister but what did Modi do? I want to tell you such a thing today that big opponents who spend energy day and night opposing us, they are going to break down after hearing this speech of mine.

Prime Minister said that the earlier governments did not want to build houses for the poor. Before 2017, 18 thousand houses were approved for UP under PM Awas Yojana, but the then government here did not even build 18 houses under PM Awas Yojana. At that time the people who were running the government of UP were creating hurdles in this scheme. The people of UP can never forget his act. I am satisfied that after the coming of Yogi ji’s government, nine lakh houses have been made to the urban poor. 14 lakh houses in the city are in the process of construction. Electricity and water are also available in those houses.

Centreโ€™s schemes proving helpful in the development of UP: Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath placed the development plans of the state in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this occasion. Counted the achievements of his government and told the Prime Minister that the schemes of the central government are proving to be very helpful in the development of Uttar Pradesh. Ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed in Uttar Pradesh, the schemes of the Centre have gained more momentum.

Country is making history for development under Modi’s leadership: Rajnath

In the program, Defense Minister of India Rajnath Singh welcomed Prime Minister Modi in his parliamentary constituency Lucknow, besides the Union Ministers involved in the Conclave and Urban Development Ministers of other states of the country.

Rajnath Singh said that this conclave will write a new dimension in the development of the cities of the country and the state. He said that Prime Minister Modi is working in mission mode for the development of the country. Not only do I have faith but I am sure that his dream will definitely come true. The overall development of cities is taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Even as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he had developed the cities. Modi has played an important role in changing the face of a city like Surat after the earthquake.

Hardeep Puri appreciated Yogi Government

Earlier, Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that Uttar Pradesh is witnessing rapid development since the Yogi Adityanath government came to power. Air connectivity before 2014, there were only four airports in the state. Eight airports are running in Uttar Pradesh after the BJP government came. The international airport of Kushinagar is ready. Work has to be done to build an airport in Ayodhya as well. The work of land acquisition is going on. Not only Uttar Pradesh, connectivity of country and international level is being done.

Attacking the previous SP government, the Union Minister said that during that time only 20 thousand houses were built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, but Chief Minister Yogi brought this figure to 20 lakhs.
