Mumbai, July 19: Gangster Abu Salem was shifted to Nashik Road Central Jail on Friday morning in a very confidential manner amid tight security of the ATS and SRPF.
According to the administration, Abu Salem was kept in Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai, but the jail administration had to do repair work in Abu Salem’s barrack. Therefore, the jail administration had decided to shift Abu Salem to another jail.
Abu Salem, citing security reasons, had filed a petition in Bombay High Court challenging the decision of the jail administration, but Bombay High Court had rejected Salem’s petition. This had cleared the way for the jail administration to shift Abu Salem to another jail.
For this reason, today the jail administration has transferred Abu Salem to Nashik Central Jail under tight security of ATS and SRPF personnel.
