Uninterrupted power supply across UP on Holi: UPPCL Chairman

Lucknow, 23 March: On the festival of colors Holi, high quality uninterrupted electricity supply will be provided to the people of the state. As per the intention of Chief Minister Yogi, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Chairman Ashish Goyal has instructed all five discoms to ensure cut-free and tripping-free power supply. During this period, there will be 24-hour electricity supply in the state.

It is noteworthy that before this, on the occasion of Dussehra, Navratri and Diwali, as well as on the occasion of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla Vigraha in Ayodhya, the government provided electricity to the rural areas, Nagar Panchayat headquarters, Tehsils of all the 75 districts of the state. It has created a record by ensuring 24 hours power supply without cuts in the headquarters and district headquarters.

Instructing the officials to take necessary steps, UPPCL Chairman Ashish Kumar Goyal said that in view of the importance of the festival of Holi, it has been decided to keep the state full of light. This will benefit not only the general public but also the business. The Chairman has said that during the festival, all areas across the state will get 24-hour cut-free electricity.

The Chairman directed the departmental officers to take utmost care in this regard and take all necessary steps to ensure that everyone gets uninterrupted electricity.

He said that the officers engaged in distribution have been asked to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the festival. Discom managing directors, chief engineers and officials of the Electricity Corporation have been directed to ensure electricity supply as per the prescribed schedule in the state even after Holi. A spokesperson of the state government has said that the supply is being ensured as per the prescribed schedule. That while 18 hours supply has been fixed in rural areas in the state, 21.30 hours supply has been fixed for Nagar Panchayat headquarters, 21.30 hours for Tehsil headquarters and 24 hours supply for district headquarters.

He added that at the same time, 20 hours electricity supply has been fixed in the rural areas of all 7 districts of Bundelkhand. Electricity supply is being ensured in all these areas as per the prescribed schedule. However, on the occasion of festivals, UPPCL is busy providing 24-hour power supply in all areas.
