Lucknow, June 02: During the Corona crisis, the Yogi government has taken full care of the needs of the farmers and has given priority to getting them paid timely.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with senior officers on Tuesday to review the payments being made to farmers.
During this time, it was told that the state government paid 3,890 crore to Rabi farmers during the Corona disaster.
Despite the lockdown, the money was sent to the accounts of wheat farmers immediately after purchasing the crop.
Even after the lockdown, the government continued to procure wheat on a war footing. Wheat was also purchased by visiting farmers’ fields through Farmer Producer Company (FPC).
So far, a total of 3.477 lakh quintal wheat has been procured at the minimum support price (MSP).
During the lockdown, 8,887 MT of gram was also procured from the farmers at the minimum support price and it was paid.
During the lockdown for harvesting of crops, the government gave the first exemption to agricultural machinery to go to the fields.
Amid lockdown, the government ran all 119 sugar mills and made sugarcane crushing work.
Not only this, sugarcane farmers of this season were paid 20,000 crores. The funds were sent directly to the accounts immediately after the crop purchase.
This season crushed 11,500 lakh quintals of sugarcane. A record 1,251 lakh quintals of sugar were produced in the state.
Uttar Pradesh became the first sugar producing state in the country. Maharashtra ranks second in sugar production.
In the last three years, the government has paid 99,000 crore to sugarcane farmers. 72,424 workers also found employment in 119 sugar mills during the entire lockdown.
In the sugarcane resection, 10 lakh workers were given employment every day. Same way, 2.4 crore farmers were given Kisan Samman Nidhi of two thousand twice during the Corona disaster.
