Lucknow, April 25: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that there is a need to expedite the construction works of newly established Saharanpur, Aligarh and Azamgarh state universities in the state. The Chief Minister, while holding a meeting with the Vice Chancellors of these universities on Monday, said that the situation as of now cannot be said to be satisfactory. Take full care of quality and timeliness in work. Its fortnightly report should be made available to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the State Government has established three new State Universities namely Maa Shakumbhari State University, Saharanpur, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh and Maharaja Suheldev University, Azamgarh. After the foundation stone, the university has become functional.
Yogi said, these universities have immense potential for development, also opportunity to develop a new work culture. All necessary assistance will be provided by the state government. This university will be the one to create new dimensions in the field of higher education and research in Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi stated that full-time registrar, assistant registrar, controller of examination and finance officer should be appointed immediately in the three newly created universities. The work of creation of new posts as per requirement should be completed at the earliest. In these universities, employees from Agra, Jaunpur and Meerut universities should also be deployed as per convenience. There should be no shortage of manpower.
Yogi said that in view of purity and transparency, it should be ensured that the organization preparing DPRs for various development projects does not participate in the tender process for implementation, construction etc. Strict enforcement should be done by implementing a clear system in this regard.
He further said that the work of affiliation of colleges should be completed at the earliest according to the scope fixed for the three newly established universities. The process should be simplified. Meerut, Agra and Jaunpur universities should give full support to the three new universities. Higher education department should take immediate decision on the matters of these universities, do not keep any subject pending. In case of any problem do not hesitate to contact the Vice Chancellor Chief Minister’s Office.
The Chief Minister has asked the Minister of Higher Education Department to conduct on-site inspection of the three newly created universities and review the progress.
He said that the meeting should be held only in the existing buildings of the university, nowhere else. All possible financial assistance should be made available to these universities.
While laying the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh University, the Prime Minister had suggested starting a defense based course here. Keeping this in mind, all the universities should take into account the local requirements, industrial needs while deciding their courses. The newly created universities have limitless opportunities. While preparing the future action plan, the university should aim to be self-reliant in a phased manner.
He said that universities are not a place for distributing degrees. Unfortunately for decades the universities of the state were victims of politics. The quality of education was not taken care of. Now that won’t happen. The campaign to free the Education Department from the mafia will continue with more rigidity.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is determined for easy availability of quality higher education. For the quality of teaching work, all universities prepare profiles of teachers of their campus as well as affiliated colleges and upload them on the portal. Be it financed colleges or unfinanced colleges; ensure that only qualified teachers are deployed.
Road connectivity of all the three universities was good. Don’t get waterlogged. In this regard, necessary work should be done at the level of PWD. All the three universities should prepare for a program of extensive tree plantation this year.
