Kanpur, March 19: The Uttar Pradesh Anti- Terrorist Squad (UP ATS) on Wednesday arrested Junior Works Manager Kumar Vikas working in the Ordnance Factory located in Armapur area of โโKanpur city.
The employee is accused of sharing information about ammunition as well as other important confidential documents including attendance of employees with Pakistani agent Neha Sharma. However, factory officials have expressed ignorance in this matter.
ATS said in a press release issued on Wednesday that the arrested Kumar Vikas is a resident of New Highway City located in Naramau police station area of โโBithoor. He is posted as Junior Works Manager in Ordnance Factory Kanpur. He came in contact with alleged Pakistani agent Neha Sharma through Facebook in January this year. He first started talking to employee Vikas through WhatsApp. After gaining her trust, both of them started talking confidentially through the app. Due to greed for money, accused Vikas shared equipment related to the Ordnance Factory, ammunition being manufactured, attendance register of employees, documents related to the factory, photographs of machines and important information with the woman.
ATS further said that such confidential information was shared with a woman named Neha, whose use can adversely affect the security, unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. On this basis, a case has been registered against Kumar Vikas in ATS police station Lucknow and action is being taken.
ATS spokesperson said that two spies have been caught in a week. Earlier on March 13, Ravindra Kumar, an employee working in the Ordnance Factory located in Hazratpur, Firozabad, was arrested. He was caught conspiring with alleged Pakistani agent Neha Sharma and sharing confidential information of the factory. During the investigation, Vikas was also in contact with Neha. He was also providing confidential information and documents of the Ordnance Factory to the alleged Pakistani agent through WhatsApp.
