Lucknow, 12 Nov: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, is planning an overseas tour with his cabinet colleagues, including both deputy chief ministers, to hold roadshows in 26 cities across 20 countries in the run-up to the ‘UP Global Investors Summit,’ which is scheduled to take place on February 10-12, 2023.
During the global conference, the state government hopes to attract investments worth roughly Rs 10 lakh crore. According to reports, CM Yogi, Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and other ministers will begin their overseas travels on November 18 and would last through the third week of December. All ten ministerial delegations would visit New York, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles in the United States.
They planned to visit London, Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Eindhoven in the Netherlands, and Paris in France while London in the United Kingdom. The delegations will continue their tour in Canada, visiting Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, as well as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mexico City, Mexico, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Munich, Germany, and Brussels, Belgium. Furthermore, Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok), Australia (Sydney), Mauritius (Port Louis), South Africa (Johannesburg), and Israel (Tel Aviv) are on the list. According to sources, CM Yogi plans to hold road shows in London, New York, Dallas, Chicago, and San Francisco. However, his schedule is being finalised with his proposed campaign trail in Gujarat in mind.
Approximately 16 ministers will lead or accompany the various delegations. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna is expected to be accompanied by his cabinet colleagues. Rakesh Sachan, an MSME, will go to Dubai and Abu Dhabi from December 1 to 5.
From November 29 to December 5, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will lead delegations to Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Paris (France). Yogesh Upadhyay, the Minister of Information Technology, is expected to accompany Maurya’s group.
From November 28 to December 5, Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana will head a delegation to Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver (Canada) and Los Angeles (USA). Dharampal Singh, the Minister of Animal Husbandry, will join this group.
Its investments will be concentrated in the food processing, defence and aerospace, pharmaceutical and medical equipment, energy, venture capital, retail, and car sectors.
The group, led by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, is expected to visit Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, with an emphasis on food processing, chemicals, logistics, retail, paper, construction, and infrastructure. Sanjay Nishad, the Minister of Fisheries, will be part of this group.
Nand Gopal Nandi, Minister for Industrial Development, will head a team to Munich (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), and Stockholm (Sweden) from December 7 to 15. He will be accompanied by PWD Minister Jitin Prasada. From November 18 to 23, technical education minister Ashish Patel will head a group to Tokyo and Seoul, joined by tourism minister Jaiveer Singh.
Swatantra Dev Singh, Jal Shakti minister, will travel to Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), and Sydney (Australia) from December 16 to December 22 with a focus on investment in IT and electronics, infrastructure, agriculture and food processing, logistics, dairy, healthcare, education, and tourism, among other things.
Nand Gopal Nandi, the minister of industry, is expected to head a group to Port Louis (Mauritius) and Johannesburg (South Africa) from December 15 to 20. He will be accompanied by Anil Rajbhar, the minister of labour.
Surya Pratap Shahi, the agriculture minister, will lead a delegation to Tel Aviv (Israel) beginning November 23rd, accompanied by Baby Rani Maurya, the minister for child welfare and nutrition.
Officers from the chief minister’s secretariat will also accompany the delegations, as will senior officers of the additional chief secretary, principal secretary, and secretary rank working in various departments.
