Lucknow, 12 March: Despite the effective control of coronavirus infection across the state, there has been a spike in the number of fresh cases coming each day for the last few days.
Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Friday that the number of new cases had reached double digits ten days ago. Fewer than 100 cases were being reported every day. But, now it has increased and in the last twenty four hours the number of fresh cases has jumped to 167. Therefore, much caution is required at this time.
He said that the Village Monitoring Committees and Mohalla Monitoring Committees had contributed very significantly in controlling it during the Covid-19 infection period. Today again, their active role is needed in the same way so that the infection does not increase across the state.
ACS, Medical and Health said that now the number of active cases in the state has gone up to 1,819. So far 8,743 people have died from the infection.
A total of 90,202 samples were examined in the state in one day yesterday. At the same time, a total of 3, 25,71,3171 corona samples have been tested in the state so far. Out of total active cases of corona in the state, 802 people are in home isolation. Apart from this, the remaining patients are getting treatment in private hospitals and government hospitals.
Prasad further informed that so far 5, 94,396 people have been recovered from Covid-19 in the state. A population of 15,29,81,301 of 3,15,09,103 households has been surveyed through 5,12,562 team days in 1,86,113 regions through surveillance teams in the state.
He informed that through e-Sanjeevani, 2,786 people have received medical consultation in the state in 24 hours and a total of 6,13,239 people have so far received medical advice. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to cross the six lakh mark in terms of medical counseling through e-Sanjeevani.
More than one lakh people took the vaccine dose till 2 pm
Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health informed that the work of corona vaccination is underway across the state. Today, vaccines are being administered to people at more than 4,000 centers across the state. More than one lakh vaccinations have been done till 2 pm.
โThese include both government and private centers. Vaccination work is being done in the state government’s medical colleges and district hospitals six days a week from Monday to Saturday. At the same time, vaccination work is being done in Community Health Centres (CHC) and Primary Health Centres (PHC) on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays,โ ACS Medical and Health apprised.
