Lucknow, February 03: In the firing at All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s car, Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that one person has been arrested while one of his accomplices is absconding.
ADG said that this evening, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi informed on his Twitter handle that his convoy was attacked. He is fine.
“However, taking quick action on this information, the police took some people into custody. After going through the video CCTV footage of the spot, it has come to light that the incident was carried out by two persons. One person has been taken into custody, his name is Sachin,” apprised ADG L&O.
He further told a pistol has also been recovered from his possession, a resident of Badalpur in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Action is being taken on the basis of the information given by him; we will reveal the incident soon.
The ADG said that the IG of Meerut is investigating the matter. At the same time, in the preliminary investigation, it is coming to the fore that the youth has done this incident after getting fed up with Owaisi’s statements. However, the police are probing the matter.
