Sahanpur, 29 April: The Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad (UP ATS) claimed to have detained a Bangladeshi national. It is alleged that the Bangladeshi national was taking Islamic education in Darul Uloom, an educational institution in Deoband, on the basis of a fake ID.
If the ATS sources are to be believed, the ATS team reached Darul Uloom, an educational institution, at around 01.30 last night. After reaching here, the ATS officers, after taking the management here into their confidence, detained the students from the hostel room number 61 on the campus.
However, one student was released after questioning and another student, Talha, was taken into custody.
When the cupboard of the suspected student was checked, Bangladeshi currency, some IDs, books and other documents were found in it.
According to sources, the Bangladeshi man was residing in Deoband since 2015 on the basis of fake documents hiding his original identity.
It is being claimed that evidence has been found from the mobile seized from the youth that the youth was in contact with some people living in Pakistan and his activities are suspicious.
However, no information has been provided by the ATS regarding this action yet.
Mohtamim Maulana Abdul Khaliq Madrasi, the caretaker of Darul Uloom, has said that no arrest will be made from the institution. ATS is engaged in interrogating the suspect, many suspicious documents have also been found from him.
