UP: CS instructs for timely completion of tourism projects of Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura

Lucknow, 15th June: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary (CS) Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has directed for timely completion of expansion and beautification project of Kashi Vishwanath temple and tourism projects of Varanasi, Ayodhya and Mathura.

The Chief Secretary was presiding over the meeting of the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) on Tuesday. During this he reviewed almost all the projects of tourism.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary Tiwari said that all the projects of tourism development should be completed according to the prescribed time table.

He told the officers that the progress and quality of works should be checked by regular on-site inspection of the projects. He directed for speedy completion of the under-construction projects.

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary was informed that the work of expansion and beautification project of Shrikashi Vishwanath Temple is going on fast and till May 54 percent work has been completed. By June, 60 percent of the work will be completed.

He was also informed that all the works of this project would be completed by the month of November. The total cost of this project is Rs 345.27 crore.

In the review of the projects of tourism development in Varanasi, it was told that the work of lighting the Ghats has been completed. The work of cruise boat and jetty etc. is going on fast from Assi Ghat to Raj Ghat, which will be completed by the end of this month. Apart from this, 228.89 acres of land has been acquired for the establishment of cultural centre in Varanasi. About 90 percent work of construction of Sangam Ghat at the confluence of river Gomti on the left bank of river Ganga in Kaithi under Tehsil Sadar and tourism development of the site has been completed.

The Chief Secretary directed to complete this project in June itself. Under the tourism development of Seer Govardhan, the birthplace of Guru Ravidas, the work of development of โ€˜Langarโ€™ Hall and exterior of the building is in progress, instructions have been given to complete the entire work of this project by the month of November.

Ayodhya Bus Depot construction work completed

In the review of the tourism development projects in Ayodhya, it was told that the construction of Ayodhya Bus Depot has been completed. The work of multi-storey parking is nearing completion, which will be completed by July. Apart from this, digital intervention work is also in progress at Ramkatha Sangrahalaya in Ayodhya, which has been directed to be completed by October. Apart from this, works like establishment of new Queen-Ho Memorial Park in Ayodhya etc. will be completed by September.

At the same time, works of car stand block, cloak room, toilet, boundary wall and surface development are in progress under Govardhan bus stand in Mathura. All the work of this project was assured to be completed by July.

Additional Chief Secretary Charity Affairs Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary Tourism Mukesh Kumar Meshram and other concerned officers were present in the meeting through video conferencing.
