UP DGP asks officers to be on alert mode ahead of Chhath Puja, Dev Deepawali

Lucknow, 15 November: After the successful completion of Dhanteras, Deepotsav, Deepawali, Govardhan Puja and Bhaiya Dooj, the Yogi government is now in alert mode regarding the upcoming Chhath Puja and Dev-Deepawali.

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Director General of Police has asked the police captains of all the districts of the state and the police commissioners of the commissionerates to make adequate security arrangements on Dala Chhath and Dev Diwali.

Also, instructions have also been given to make special arrangements for the safety of women and daughters at the ghats.

Top police officers of all the districts and commissionerates have been asked to hold a review meeting regarding the preparations for Dala Chhath and Dev Diwali and send the report to the headquarters.

Along with this, it has also been ordered to review the situation of traffic route diversion and traffic jams. There are strict instructions from the Director General of Police that during festivals, strict action should be taken against those driving against traffic rules. Also, in view of the festive shopping, the Anti Romeo team should always be kept in alert mode in the markets.

All the police captains and commissioners of the state have been directed to ensure timely disposal of the cases pending in their respective police stations. Also, in the circle-wise crime review seminar, make a thorough review of the crimes and issue instructions to the subordinate policemen immediately.

Apart from this, in sensitive cases, senior police officers of the district should personally go to the spot and inspect, prepare a report and ensure necessary action within stipulated time.

Apart from this, the applications received on the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal or public complaint should be disposed of in a quality and timely manner and get regular feedback. Also, be more strict in monitoring anti-social elements in their respective districts. Take action against people of criminal nature.

Police chiefs and police commissioners have also been directed to curb the illegal activities of goons and mafia. It has also been said to ensure that preventive action, effective action under Gangster, Gunda, NDPS and Excise Act is ensured through police stations. Apart from this, efforts continued to arrest the declared criminals.

On behalf of the Chief Minister, police officers of all the districts have also been directed to conduct public hearings regularly.

Besides, instructions have also been given to conduct regular reviews regarding campaigns like Operation Clean, Operation Trinetra, Operation Conviction etc. and to increase regular foot patrolling and night patrolling in markets and crowded places.
