UP: DM slaps NSA on SP leader who threatened to burn UP minister alive

Meerut, 16 January: The Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mukesh Siddharth has been arrested for his statement of burning alive State Minister of State for Energy Somendra Tomar. The district administration has imposed the National Security Act (NSA) on the SP leader.

Scheduled Caste people had surrounded the Collectorate in connection with the assault on councilors in the Municipal Corporation board meeting. At the time of siege, SP leader and former Minister of State Mukesh Siddharth had given a statement that Minister of State Somendra Tomar would be burnt alive.

After this, the Civil Lines Police had registered a case against the SP leader under serious sections. After this, on January 7, Mukesh Siddharth was arrested from Delhi and sent to jail.

At the same time, the administration had talked about imposing NSA on the SP leader. Now District Magistrate Deepak Meena has issued an order to impose National Security Act (NSA) on the SP leader.

Scheduled Caste people had already announced to call a Mahapanchayat after action was taken against the SP leader under NSA. Earlier on Saturday, Scheduled Caste people had met the District Magistrate and accused the administration of taking unilateral action. At that time a demand was made to the DM not to impose NSA. It was announced to call a Mahapanchayat on the imposition of Rasuka.
