Lucknow, 2 Aug: The Uttar Pradesh government has authorised the formation of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission for the recruitment of teachers in the higher, secondary, and primary education departments.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting in Lucknow presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath.
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay told reporters that the commission, which would function as an integrated body, will have its headquarters in Prayagraj and will have 12 members and a chairperson.
Chief Minister Adityanath issued guidelines on it in April. According to the minister, the integrated commission will be beneficial in guaranteeing a time-bound, transparent, and consistent selection procedure.
Previously, UP had various agencies, boards, and commissions for selecting competent instructors in the state’s basic, secondary, higher, and technical educational institutions.
The UP Higher Education Services Commission recruited instructors for higher education institutions, whereas the UP Secondary Education Service Selection Board recruited secondary school teachers. Teachers were also chosen through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, the board of management for minority higher/secondary education institutions, and the board of governance/board of directors for technical institutes.
He stated that the chief minister has instructed that one private university be established in each district and one government institution be established in each division of the state.
