Lucknow, 25 March: The Panchayati Raj Department is continuing its work and has prepared the final reservation list as per the High Court verdict.
District Panchayat Raj Officers (DPROs) of all the districts are sending the list to the WhatsApp group of the Panchayati Raj Department. By late night, the final list of all the districts will be included in the WhatsApp group of the department. After this, the final reservation list of Uttar Pradesh Panchayat elections will be released before the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday.
All the political parties are considering it as a semifinal for the three-tier panchayat elections to be held before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. For almost two months, the electoral movements in the rural areas regarding the Panchayat elections have been continuously increasing.
The government ordered the Panchayati Raj Department to release the reservation list while changing the reservation policy. After this, the department released the provisional reservation list on March 2 and before the final list was released, the Lucknow bench of the High Court ordered the implementation of the new reservation policy, rejecting the government’s reservation policy.
According to the decision of the High Court, the provisional list was released from all the districts of the state between March 20 to 22. The objections have to be disposed off on March 24 and 25, but the District Panchayat Raj officers of most districts have sorted the objections out by Thursday afternoon and sent the final list to the WhatsApp group of the Panchayati Raj Department.
At the same time, the decision of the High Court was challenged in the Supreme Court as soon as the provisional list of the new reservation was released. The Supreme Court will hear this on Friday.
List will be uploaded in WhatsApp group till late night
According to the information, till the time of writing the news, the DPROs of 25 districts have sent the final list in the WhatsApp group and it is being told that by late night the DPROs of all the districts will upload the final list.
Kanpur city DPRO Kamal Kishore said that the final list of the district has been sent to the WhatsApp group.
Similarly, Sarvesh Kumar Pandey, DPRO of Banda district told that the final list is being prepared and will be sent to WhatsApp group before 12 o’clock at night.
All eyes on the decision of the Supreme Court
Sources in the Panchayati Raj Department say that there is a hearing in the Supreme Court on the reservation list of Uttar Pradesh three-tier panchayat polls on Friday and the decision can come at any time after noon. But department officials have directed all the district magistrates (DMs) to release the final new reservation list before the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday.
The District Magistrates are taking instant updates from the DPROs regarding the last new reservation list.
At the same time, the eyes of the candidates along with the officials are dependent on the decision of the Supreme Court.
If the Panchayati Department officials are to be believed, if the Supreme Court upholds the decision of the High Court, then elections will be held on the same reservation list, if the Supreme Court changes the decision of the High Court, then there will be a possibility of holding elections on the old reservation list.
