UP first state to administer highest 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccines

Lucknow, January 19: Uttar Pradesh is the first state across the country where the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been given over 09 crores beneficiaries.

Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Department, said on Wednesday that a total of 2, 30,753 samples were tested in the state yesterday. There have been 17,776 new cases of corona infection. A total of 9, 69, 73,563 samples have been tested so far in the state.

Amit Mohan said that 1, 24,295 samples have been sent from different districts for RTPCR. In the last 24 hours, 20,532 people have been cured of Covid-19. There are a total of 98,238 active cases of corona in the state, out of which 95,293 people are in home isolation.

Prasad informed that the work of Covid inoculation is being done continuously. A total of 25, 81,162 doses were administered in a day in the state on January 18. Till yesterday, 14, 03, 39,175 people above 18 years have been given the first dose in the state.

He said that Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country where the second dose of Covid vaccine has been given more than 9 crores. So far, the first dose of 62, 83,447 vaccines have been given to children between the ages of 15 and 18. So far 5, 29,013 precaution doses have been given. Soon the figure of Covid immunization in the state will reach 24 crores.

He said that take care of young children, pregnant women and people above 60 years of age. He said that everyone must get their Covid vaccination done. People who have taken their first dose must take the second dose when the time comes.
