Lucknow, 19 February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that an environment of business, development and trust has been created in Uttar Pradesh. ?The double engine government has shown that if change is determined then no one can stop it. Exports from UP have doubled in the last few years, he remarked.
Prime Minister Modi was addressing the inauguration of the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC) organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Monday. Through this, 14 thousand investment projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore were launched.
Prime Minister Modi said that today Uttar Pradesh is the state which has the highest number of expressways and the highest number of international airports in the country.
“Today Uttar Pradesh is the state where the country’s first rapid rail is running. Transportation of goods is being done through the vast network of rivers. Transportation has become cheaper. I am not assessing today’s program only on the basis of investment. The hope that everyone seems to have here is very broad,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that today we have united here for the resolve of a developed Uttar Pradesh of developed India.
“I was told that today’s program is being watched live by people in all 403 assembly constituencies of the state. He said that before the year 2017, there used to be news of crime, riots and snatching in Uttar Pradesh, during that time if anyone had said that Uttar Pradesh will be made a developed state, then perhaps no one would have been ready. There is no question of believing. Today investment worth lakhs of crores of rupees is coming to the soil of Uttar Pradesh and I am an MP from here. I feel most happy when there is investment in my Uttar Pradesh,” PM opined.
He said that today work is starting on thousands of projects. ?The factories that are being set up and industries being established are going to change the picture of Uttar Pradesh. I congratulate all the investors and especially all the youth of Uttar Pradesh. It has been 7 years since the formation of a double engine government in Uttar Pradesh. The old culture of the state has changed in the last 7 years. Crime culture has reduced significantly and business culture has expanded,? he asserted.
The Prime Minister said that earlier we were made to yearn even for basic facilities. ?Now basic facilities are being provided not only to the country but also to Uttar Pradesh. Four crore houses have been built for the poor to live in cities. 25 lakh families living in cities have got loan waiver. Of these, 1.5 lakh families are from Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, tax was levied only on Rs 2 lakh. Today, middle class families do not have to pay any tax up to Rs 7 lakh. Middle class families have benefited to the tune of lakhs of crores,? he said.
He said that earlier people had to stand in long queues, now our government is personally coming to the homes of the poor, this is Modi’s guarantee.
“Our government will not rest until every beneficiary gets the benefit,” he emphasised.
He said that today Modi is asking even those whom no one has ever asked before.
“No government has thought about street vendors. Till now they have been given assistance worth Rs. 10,000 crores. 22 lakh people of Uttar Pradesh have also got the benefit of PM Swanidhi,” he concluded.
