Lucknow, June 14: The state government is considering the use of helicopters in various areas. In this regard, representatives of UK Defense and Security Exports, British High Commission and Airbus Helicopters have made a presentation to Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Awanish Kumar Awasthi.
The Additional Chief Secretary has sought proposals from Airbus representatives regarding the use of helicopters in tourism, policing and trauma. Along with this, instructions have also been given by the police to provide proposals regarding the use of helicopters in crowd control, food relief work, disaster management, medical emergency, monitoring of Naxal areas.
In relation to the use of helicopters for emergency medical services, advanced airborne solutions, law enforcement and disaster management in the state, representatives of UK Defense and Security Exports, British High Commission and Airbus Helicopters spoke to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department regarding the utility of the helicopter. Presentation was given to Awanish Awasthi.
Airbus Helicopter Head of Business Development Aditya Sharma made a presentation on the use of helicopters for emergency medical services, advanced airborne solutions, law enforcement and disaster management in the state.
He said that helicopters can be used for law enforcement, disaster management, health and family welfare, medical supplies, industrial development in Uttar Pradesh.
It was informed during the presentation that use of multi-role helicopters could be considered for efficient policing, providing cover to new expressways and providing assistance to disaster management officers in times of need. Improved helicopter operations will also help in economic growth, skill development and revenue generation. With the help of helicopter, it will be easy to reach the medical aid to the remote areas of the state and to the trauma center/hospital of the patients in case of emergency.
Regarding the use of helicopter for disaster management and law and order, Airbus representative said that the helicopter can be used for relief and rescue work, distribution of food items and medicines to the victims, fire fighting during floods in the state.
Apart from this, helicopters can also be used in traffic management during fairs, Kanwar Yatra. Helicopters can also be used for tourism and pilot training.
