Lucknow, 22 Nov: Tata Consultancy Services will train teachers and students at 105 Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya and Eklavya Schools managed by the Uttar Pradesh government’s social welfare department.

They will be trained in computational and logical thinking. TCS inked an 18-month agreement of understanding with the social welfare department on Tuesday in the presence of Minister of State (Independent charge) Asim Arum, according to a government release.

According to the announcement, the company’s go-IT and Ignite My Future programs under the International Bebras Computing Challenge will instruct students from Jaiprakash Narayan Sarvodaya Schools and Eklavya Residential Schools in logical and computational thinking as part of a drive toward Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

These schools, run by the Uttar Pradesh social welfare department, have 35,000 students and provide residential lodging as well as quality education to pupils from the state’s disadvantaged sectors and tribal regions. Under the initiative, TCS will train around 1,500 teachers in these schools in computational thinking to help them comprehend computers, algorithms, programming, coding, and problem-solving abilities, among other things.

The teachers will serve as master trainers, passing on the knowledge to their colleagues and pupils. Students will be taught design and logical thinking, as well as problem-solving abilities and code development, as part of the company’s go-IT programme, in addition to being prepared through the International training programme Bebras Computing Challenge.

According to the statement, the programmes are created in such a way that students may assess themselves at worldwide standards and excel in programs such as JEE-NEET. The session was attended by Minister Asim Arun, Secretary Sameer Verma, TCS CSR national head Sunil Joseph, and centre heads Amitabh Tiwari and Ravi Kohli.
