GHAZIABAD, April 23: The State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) team on Saturday identified 49 iron firms in many areas of western UP including Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr. Along with this, the team conducted search and seizure operations at all the locations of 43 firms simultaneously.
According to Additional Commissioner Commercial Tax Aditi Singh, the team caught the GST evasion by raiding 43 firms together at 10 am. Now their documents are being checked. These firms made a chain showing a business of 650 crores, the bogus input credit tax transaction of 128 crores was done only on paper and not in reality. Now their real beneficiaries are being identified, whose recovery action will be taken by blocking ITC.
According to Singh, some firms have taken advantage of ITC by making e-way bills only after obtaining the GST registration on the basis of fake forms, marking which FIR will be lodged against such traders. At the same time, while obtaining registration using bogus input credit tax, action will continue against those who do the work of billing instead of doing actual business.
