LUCKNOW, 13 APRIL: Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi has instructed the police chiefs of all the districts to take action by making a list of top 10 criminals of each police station.
While reviewing the efforts made by the police to prevent crime by video conferencing at Yojna Bhawan here on Wednesday, he said that following the policy of zero tolerance in the state, the criminals, mafia, accused involved in women and child crimes should be given the harshest punishment.
Presiding over the video conferencing, ACS Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi said that after identifying various types of mafia in the state, prompt action should be taken against them under the Gangster Act so that the message of strict action of the government should be sent to the criminals at the ground level.
He expected the entire machinery of the Prosecution Department to work with more dynamism and give his full dedication and cooperation in the direction of further strengthening the spirit of rule of law in the state. He reviewed that the criminals involved in mafia, heinous criminals, women and child crimes should be given maximum punishment by effective lobbying.
UP Director General of Police (DGP), Mukul Goel said that the officers associated with the prosecution work have special importance in providing maximum punishment to the criminals by providing effective prosecution. For this, they have to discharge their responsibility with full dedication and devotion.
Goel laid special emphasis on early filing of pending chargesheet and final report cases in the court.
