Lucknow, 07 May: So far, 28,076 fresh positive cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours across Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, 3,117 people are healthy and discharged from various Covid dedicated hospitals.
There are currently 2, 54,118 total active cases of coronavirus. Of these, 1, 98,857 people are undergoing home isolation.
On the other hand, 2, 41,403 Covid tests have been done.
Vaccination for those aged 18-44 in 11 more districts
Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal informed that immunization drive will be launched from May 10 in 11 more districts of the Uttar Pradesh for those aged 18-44 years. At present, people of this age group are being vaccinated in seven districts of the state. In total, vaccination will be done in 18 districts. The minister in charge or the local public representative will be present at some vaccination centre.
Only one third of the employees should be present in offices
He said that Chief Minister Yogi has directed that ‘Work from Home’ facility should be provided to sick, differently-abled employees and pregnant women employees in all government and private offices. There is no compulsion to come to office.
โSimilarly, work in all government offices should be done with 50% personnel capacity. No more than one-third of the employees are present at a time. This system should be made effective immediately,โ he added.
80 tons of oxygen will come from Jamnagar tomorrow
Regarding the supply of oxygen, Chief Minister Yogi said that till tomorrow 80 tonnes of oxygen will come into the state from Jamnagar (Gujarat). Two Oxygen Expresses are coming by tonight. A detailed action plan should be prepared keeping in view the need of all districts from ACS home level. All necessary efforts should be made to minimize oxygen waste and increase supply.
DMs and CMOs keep an eye on hospitals
The Chief Minister said that some private hospitals are trying to create artificial scarcity of beds, oxygen etc. in different districts. Incidents have been reported in some private hospitals to recover many times more than the rate fixed by the government. This is not right. These types of activities are criminal. Strict action has been taken against it in some districts. All DMs and CMOs should keep an eye on such hospitals and take appropriate action with strictness.
