Lucknow, 06 April: Uttar Pradesh Finance, Parliamentary Affairs and Medical Education Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna on Tuesday informed the press representatives about the revenue increase in his office at Vidhan Bhavan.
It was informed that in the financial year 2020-21, a total of Rs 16,476.33 crore has been received in the main tax-non-tax revenue items in the month of March, while 13,445.85 crore was received in the month of March 2019-20.
He said that in the month of March 2021, in the important items with non-tax revenue, there has been an increase of Rs. 3030.48 crore against the month of March, 2020.
The Finance Minister informed that under GST and VAT, in the year 2020-21, Rs 8769.15 crore has been received in the month of March, which is 103.5 percent of the target set for the month of March. 5329.82 crore has been received under GST, which is 114.10 percent of the target set. Similarly, Rs 3439.33 crore has been received under VAT, which is Rs 626.28 crore more than the month of March 2020.
Suresh Khanna said that in the month of March for the fiscal year 2020-21, revenue of Rs 4357.05 crore has been received, which 114.7 percent of the target is set in March. In the month of March 2020, Rs 1838.45 crore was received under this item. Thus, in the month of March, 2021, revenue of Rs. 2518.60 crore has been received in the excise head as compared to the month of March in the year 2020.
In the month of March 2020-21, revenue of Rs 2177.54 crore has been received on account of stamp and registration, which is 105.90 percent of the target set for the month of March. He informed that in the month of March 2019-20, Rs 930.48 crore was received under this head. In this way, in the month of March, in the month of March 2019-20, Rs. 1247.06 crore more revenue has been received due to stamp and registration.
โSimilarly, in the month of March, 2020-21, revenue of Rs 740.95 crore has been received for the transportation, which is 100.80 percent of the target of achieving revenue in this month. In the same month of 2019-20, Rs 586.62 crore was received on account of transportation. Thus, in the month of March 2020-21, revenue of Rs 154.33 crore has been received in the transport head relative to the year 2019-20,โ Khanna added.
He said that in the main tax revenue items, in the month of 2020-21, Rs 16044.69 crore has been received, which is 106.5 percent of the target for this month.
The Finance Minister said that the main item of non-tax revenue is revenue of Rs 431.64 crore in the month of March, in the month of 2020-21, in the land element and miners, which is 107.90 percent of the target for the month of March. He informed that in the month of March 2019-20, revenue of Rs 225.41 crore was received under this item.
He said that in the month of March 2020-21, in comparison to the year 2019-20, more revenue of Rs 206.23 crore has been received in landmines and miners.
Khanna said that the economic activities of the state were greatly affected due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. He said that in the year 2020-21, against the total main tax revenue receipts target of Rs 1,66,021 crore, Rs 1,19,284.69 crore has been achieved, which is 71.80 percent of the target set. In 2019-20, 87.9 percent of the target set for tax revenue was achieved.
He said that 55.10 percent of the target set in 2020-21 has been achieved under non-tax revenue.
The Minister of Medical Education informed that at present the infection of corona is increasing again. In view of this, all medical colleges have been instructed to increase the number of beds. He informed that at present there are 223 ICU beds and 251 isolation beds in KGMU.
He informed that soon 29 ICU beds will be arranged, which will make 252 ICU beds available in KGMU.
โDr Rammanohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences has a total of 108 ICUs and 208 isolation systems. Similarly, SGPGI has a provision of 308 beds. He said that caution is the only way to prevent this pandemic,โ he told.
He appealed to all the people of the state to follow government instructions and use masks, maintain social distance and wash their hands with soapy water.
