UP: IPS Alankrita Singh, who is on leave without permission, suspended

LUCKNOW, 27 APRIL: After the approval of the Governor of the state, the government has suspended 2008 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Alankrita Singh on Wednesday.

In this regard, a letter was issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi on Wednesday, saying that Alankrita Singh was a 2008 batch IPS officer. While working in the Superintendent of Police, Women and Child Welfare Protection Organization, Lucknow, she informed the Additional Director General of Police Women and Child Welfare Protection Organization’s WhatsApp call on the night of October 19 2019 last year that she is currently in London. Since then till now she was absent. Alankrita Singh is absent from her duty place without getting any kind of leave sanctioned also, travelling abroad without seeking government approval.

Awasthi further told, therefore, she is found guilty of disregarding her duty, gross negligence in official work and indiscipline. A request was made to the Governor to take appropriate action against her and after getting her approval, IPS Alankrita has been suspended.
