Badohi, 30 August: A 21-year-old man sliced a young woman’s throat when she refused to talk to him.

She was rescued owing to prompt treatment. The accused has been apprehended and charged for attempt to murder. Accused Raj Kumar Gautam wanted to communicate with the 20-year-old lady who resided in his Surwaya town neighbourhood, but she refused and blocked his phone number, according to Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Dr Anil Kumar.

Gautam appeared at the market on Monday evening when she was shopping for veggies and inquired as to why she had not spoken to him. According to the SP, he then pulled out a sharp-edged knife, cut her throat, and left the scene.

The woman began to bleed excessively and was transported to a neighbouring primary health care facility. She was later sent to a trauma centre in Varanasi. The SP stated that she was in serious condition last night but was no longer in danger on Tuesday.
