Lucknow, March 25: Many senior ministers, including the Deputy Chief Minister of Yogi-1 government of Uttar Pradesh Dinesh Sharma, could not find a place in the council of ministers of Yogi-2 government. There are different reasons behind this. The displeasure of the workers and the general public towards some was heavy on them, while some could not fit into the electoral arithmetic of the BJP.

It is believed that the BJP leadership has given place to the leaders in Yogi’s Council of Ministers keeping in mind the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma started his political career with BJP organization’s district politics. He was made Deputy Chief Minister in 2017. This time he was not included in the Council of Ministers. There was a discontent among the workers regarding Dinesh Sharma.

Dinesh Sharma, one of the very close leaders of the RSS, failed to create harmony at the local level. There is talk of him being made the state BJP president in the political corridor. If BJP appoints a Brahmin face as its president, Dinesh Sharma will be contested by former Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma.

Similarly, Shrikant also could not succeed in making a place in Yogi Sarkar-02. There is a lot of gossip in the political circles that the head of the organization in the BJP can be the only person who can harmonize with the government. In this sense, Dinesh Sharma is being considered ahead in the race for the post of President. He is considered close to Chief Minister Yogi.

Eight-time MLA Satish Mahana was also out

Dinesh Sharma’s name alone is not surprising among the leaders who could not make it to the Yogi-2 government. MLA from Maharajpur seat of Kanpur, Satish Mahana has also not become a minister. He has become an MLA for the eighth time from the BJP. The BJP has very few MLAs with such long experience.

In Yogi’s first government, he remained as the Minister of Industrial Development. At the same time, Ramnaresh Agnihotri, who was a minister in the previous government, was also not made a minister. He comes from Mainpuri. It is almost certain that one of Satish Mahana and Agnihotri will become the Speaker of the Assembly.

Even Mahendra Singh could not become a minister

Former Jalshakti Minister Mahendra Singh, who was one of the powerful ministers in Yogi’s first government, also could not find place in the current government. Mahendra Singh, who has been associated with the organization for a long time, entered politics by contesting the election of the municipal councilor in Lucknow and worked tirelessly in the organization. The organization carried him forward. He was made MLC.

When the BJP government was formed in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, Minister of State was made independent charge. In extension, he was made a cabinet. With his becoming a cabinet minister, his coordination with the organization started decreasing. Along with this, the people of the opposition also raised questions on the functioning of his department. Many such reasons are being told for not being able to join the Yogi 02 government.
