Lucknow, 08 February: Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary said here on Monday that the three-tier panchayat elections in the state will be conducted as per the High Court order.
Panchayati Raj Minister held a press conference today and also highlighted the achievements of his department.
The Minister of Panchayati Raj said that the work of delimitation for the Panchayat elections has been completed. Now the reservation will be done on time by completing the work of reservation.
In fact, the Allahabad High Court gave a big and strict instruction three days ago regarding the Panchayat elections in UP.
The court had directed the State Election Commission (SEC) to hold panchayat elections by April 30.
Also, the High Court had also directed the state government to complete the reservation of seats for the panchayat elections by March 17.
Election notification may be issued by March 20
If sources are to be believed, the State Election Commission can issue notification regarding the three-tier panchayat elections by March 20. Before this the state government will complete the work of reservation.
Sources say that the commission may conduct a poll for the three-tier panchayat elections from April 15 to 30.
There are a total of 58,194 gram sabhas in Uttar Pradesh. The District Panchayat has 3051 wards. There are 75,855 wards in Kshetra Panchayat and 7,31,0813 in Gram Panchayats.
