Noida, 27 June: Officials claimed Tuesday that the Gautam Buddh Nagar police detained four men for allegedly employing fraudulent techniques during a recruitment examination for a government post in Uttar Pradesh. Three of them were detained in Greater Noida, while one was detained in Noida, after the administration of the local schools where the exam was taken on Monday filed complaints with the police, they added.
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) held an examination for the position of Gram Vikas Adhikari (Village Development Officer). According to Ashok Kumar, Additional DCP (Greater Noida), two people who appeared for the test at the Oxford Green Public School in the Kasna police station area were detained.
“During the exam, one of them was using an electronic device, while the other appeared in place of the actual candidate. The exam centre officials filed a complaint with the police, and action was taken against the accused,” Singh added. Police named those detained as Ajay Kumar and Pawan Kumar, both from the Mathura district.
Officials from the Beta 2 police station said Sachin Kumar Sharma, a student at Jaypee International School in Sector Omega 2, was detained for a similar act.
According to Additional DCP (Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy, one individual was detained from the Bhawani Shankar Intercollege in the Sector 39 police station area on Sunday on suspicion of cheating during the UPSSSC test.
“During the inspection, it was discovered that a person named Naresh was writing the exam in place of candidate Ram Avtar.
The school authorities apprehended him and reported him to the police, after which a FIR was filed and the accused was arrested,” Avasthy added. FIRs have been registered against the accused in both incidents, according to the police, under provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act and related sections of the Indian Penal Code.
