Lucknow, 20 January: The Uttar Pradesh Police has reached Mumbai on Wednesday to investigate the matter regarding a First Information Report (FIR) registered against controversial web series ‘Tandav’.
However, the Police will interrogate the cast and crew members of the show.
On January 16, the web series ‘Tandav’ was premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Since then, the web series have come under controversy as many Hindu organizations had expressed their outrage against the series for insulting their deities and hurting religious sentiments.
Not only were this, a number of cases filed against the director, writer and others in several police stations of UP including Hazratganj and Ghazipur in Lucknow. People burnt symbolic effigies of the artists.
We didn’t want to hurt anyone
The way the people of UP has shown their anger against the film ‘Tandav’. With this, the filmmaker said in his statement on Tuesday that our intention was not to hurt the feelings of any community or religion. We have the utmost respect for the feelings of people. In this web series, we are ready to make changes.
