Lucknow, February 26: Voting for the fifth phase of the assembly elections will be held on Sunday. In this phase, 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh- Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, Rae Bareli, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Barabanki and Amethi will vote from 7 am to 6 pm.
Besides the central security forces, a large number of local police will be deployed in the booths to conduct the elections in a peaceful manner.
Giving this information on Saturday, Additional Director General (ADG) of Police, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar said that voting will be held in 61 assemblies of 12 districts on Sunday. Polling will be held at 14,026 polling stations and 25,974 polling places in 204 police stations of these 61 assemblies. However, a total of 23 assemblies have been kept in the sensitive category. A total of 1,119 Majras and Mohallas have been identified as vulnerable while 4,547 polling places have been considered critical.
β152 pink booths were made, where 20 women inspectors, sub-inspectors, and 295 chief constables and constable women police have been deployed,β he added.
He said that 856.1 Company Central Police Force has been received for booth duty to conduct peaceful elections in the districts. Out of these, 805.11 companies have been engaged for booth duty, 14 companies for strongroom duty, 4.67 companies have been engaged for EVM security. Similarly, 45.61 companies were given for law and order, in which 22.67 companies have been imposed on quick response team (QRT) duty.
