Lucknow, February 18: The campaigning for the third phase polls in Uttar Pradesh has ended at 6 pm on Friday. In this phase, 59 seats in 16 districts will go to polls on February 20.

However, this is considered a very important phase for the government and the opposition.

Like, if we talk about the 2017 assembly election results, then the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won 49 out of 59 seats. Despite the alliance of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress party, only nine seats went to their account.

In the third phase, polling will be held in Kasganj, Hathras, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur on Sunday.

There are a total of 2.16 crore voters in 59 assembly seats in these 16 districts. 627 candidates are trying their luck in the electoral fray.

These are the important faces in the third stage

While senior Congress leader Ajay Kapoor is in the fray from Kidwai Nagar seat of Kanpur. Ramveer Upadhyay, a stalwart who left the BSP and joined the BJP, is contesting from the Sadabad seat of Hathras.
