UP polls 2022: UP Legislative Assembly adjourned sine die after supplementary budget is passed

Lucknow, December 17: The winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on Friday. Earlier, the House passed the second supplementary budget of Rs 8479.53 crore for the current financial year and vote on account of Rs 1,68,903.23 crore for the first four months (April to July) of the financial year 2022-23.

State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the second supplementary budget of Rs 8,479.53 crore in the house on Thursday on behalf of the Yogi government. During this, the Finance Minister also presented a vote on account of Rs 1,68,903.23 crore for the first four months (April to July) of the financial year 2022-23 in the House.

The discussion on the supplementary budget was held in the House on Friday.

However, the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) Ramgovind Choudhary and other party leaders questioned the appropriateness of the supplementary budget.

The LOP said that when the money of the original budget and the first supplementary budget has not been spent yet. In such a situation, presenting the second supplementary budget in the House by the government seems justified.

The House passed the second supplementary budget of Rs 8,479.53 crore and a vote on account of Rs 1,68,903.23 crore for four months by voice vote, despite opposition from the opposition.

After this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna proposed the adjournment of the house.

The Speaker again adjourned the proceedings of the House indefinitely while giving a vote of thanks to all the members.

The winter session of the UP Legislature began on Wednesday. Since the assembly elections are to be held soon in the state, this is being considered as the last session of the 17th assembly.

These are the important points of the supplementary budget

1- Yogi government presented a supplementary budget of 8479.53 crores.

2- The government will give allowance to the laborers of the unorganized sector, a provision of Rs 4000 crore has been made.

3- Yogi government will increase the grant of the disabled. For this, 167 crore provision in the budget has been allotted. Elderly and farmer pension will also increase.

4- Yogi government will start UP Gaurav Samman, provision of 10 crores has been made in the supplementary budget.

5- The budget of the Information Department also increased by Rs 150 crore on the occasion of the election.

6-Amount of 10 billion to Power Corporation for 24-hour power supply in the state

7-185 crores separately for 7-Har Ghar Bijli Yojana

8. 10 crores in the supplementary budget to the sports department.

9-10crores for Kashi Vishwanath Dham

10- 670 crore for kisan and old age pension
