UP: Schools closed in UP due to biting cold, read full story

Lucknow, 27 December: Keeping in view biting cold and dense fog, district magistrates have issued orders to keep schools closed in Meerut, Bareilly, Aligarh, Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh .

Schools up to 8th in Bareilly and Aligarh will remain closed 28 December. In Meerut, a holiday has been declared till January 1, 2023 in schools up to 12th. Although preboard exams, home exams, practical exams will run. At the same time, orders have been issued to keep schools up to 8th standard closed till December 31 in Saharanpur.

The timing of educational institutions in Moradbad district has been changed. The District Magistrate has fixed the timings of Council, UP Board, CBSE, ICSE schools from 10 am to 3 pm.

The minimum temperature was five degrees and the maximum temperature was 17 degrees Celsius on Monday.

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be similar cold this year. There is a possibility of dense fog till December 31.

The winter vacation in colleges affiliated to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University will be from December 30 to January 7. Registrar Dr. Rajeev Kumar told that according to the orders of the Vice-Chancellor, holiday has been declared on the university campus and affiliated colleges. During this period the teaching work will be suspended.

Necessary activities will go on in the campus and affiliated colleges as per the requirement. It may be noted that till now the winter vacation used to be from 25th December. This time the 20th initiation ceremony of the university is proposed on 29th December. Chancellor Anandiben Patel will attend the initiation ceremony. Winter vacation has been declared from the next day of ceremony.
